On Sunday was the annual Vitality Health Run Hackney half-marathon event hosted on certainly one of the hottest days of the year. There were 11,899 runners, CF Commercials’ own Daisy Rees one of them. Participants were emailed earlier in the week to take it slowly, invite family and make a day of it.
The 13-mile route starting from Hackney Marshes and weaving around Hackney – past the famous Hackney Empire – and around the Olympic park. The finishing line was Canalside at Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Many hundreds of spectators waited on the banks of the river to welcome the Finishers, with well appreciated cold drinks and snacks.
The site of HereEast was absolutely packed. Of no coincidence, one of its most anticipated food operators – The Breakfast Club – had their soft-opening.
The £300million former press-centre for the 2012 Olympics is quickly becoming an incredibly exciting site. Canalside at Here East has had considerable recent media coverage for its raft of new ‘foodie’ operators – in addition to The Breakfast Club is Shane’s on Canalside – sister restaurant to Shane’s on Chatsworth, Grotto – a rustic Italian from the duo behind Soho’s Pere E Mele, a hybrid craft brewery and Capish!food, and of course Randys Wing bar which opens soon. Randys Wing bar will be the permanent home for the duo that have been causing havoc packing-out street food festivals across London for years with their great chicken wings.
CFC are appointed as joint retail-agents at HereEast, and we will soon be launching phase two. Please contact either Craig for more info on 0203 370 4334.
